Custom domain setup and Exchange Online configuration testing

Intune enrolment, configuration profiles and compliance policies
Conditional Access and Microsoft Defender for Business
Windows Autopilot testing and deployment documentation
SharePoint and Teams administration exercises

Purpose

The lab will allow features and policy changes to be tested away from production environments, while creating practical documentation that supports continued development in Microsoft 365 and endpoint management.

Status

Planned. The next phase is tenant setup and custom domain configuration, followed by structured Intune and security testing.

Teams Rooms and Meeting Collaboration Support

Meeting spaces need to be dependable for people who simply want to join a meeting and collaborate without troubleshooting the room first.

Scope

Support Microsoft Teams meeting room workflows and user experience
Assist with room calendar and Exchange resource mailbox behaviour
Troubleshoot invitations, lobby access, room displays and meeting joins
Contribute to meeting room hardware planning and deployment decisions

Practical Focus

My focus is reducing complexity for users while ensuring room accounts, meeting processes and hardware work together reliably, especially where sessions include multiple locations or organisers.

Ongoing Value

Well-supported collaboration spaces reduce meeting disruption and make hybrid work easier for both onsite and remote participants.

Key Lesson

Meeting-room technology is most successful when the configuration and the user workflow are equally simple.

SharePoint Administration and Access Governance

Scope

Support users with SharePoint and OneDrive document access issues
Review and simplify permissions where appropriate
Help maintain appropriate access for restricted content areas
Improve user understanding of document storage and collaboration

Approach

Permission issues are not always solved by granting more access. I first identify the user’s actual requirement, review how the content is meant to be shared and favour manageable group-based access wherever possible.

Ongoing Value

Clearer permission structures reduce support friction, improve confidence in shared content and make future administration easier.

Key Lesson

Effective SharePoint administration depends on governance that remains practical for real users, not only technically correct permissions.

Microsoft Intune Device Management Rollout

A modern endpoint management rollout for a nonprofit environment supporting onsite and remote users.

Public case study note: organisation-specific information, identities and internal configurations have been intentionally generalised.

Objective

Improve the consistency and security of managed Windows devices through Microsoft Intune and Entra ID, while keeping the rollout manageable for users.

BitLocker configuration and recovery key processes
Windows LAPS for local administrator control
OneDrive configuration and user file transition support
Hands-on assistance during device migration and rollout

My Contribution

I supported the rollout onsite, worked directly with users and devices during transition, helped validate expected policy behaviour and assisted with practical issues that surfaced once configuration met real-world use.

Outcome

The project helped move Windows endpoints towards a more consistent management model with stronger security controls and clearer support processes.

Key Lesson

Endpoint projects work best when technical configuration is paired with clear communication and hands-on user support.

Outlook Classic Deployment via Intune

A targeted application deployment completed for managed Windows devices requiring Outlook Classic.

Requirement

Users needed access to the Outlook desktop client through a straightforward installation process on Intune-managed devices.

Solution

Configured Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise through Intune with Outlook selected as the required application, then assigned it as an available installation through Company Portal.

Outcome

The deployment provided a supported and user-friendly self-service installation option without adding unnecessary packaging complexity.

Key Lesson

A simple first-party deployment method is often the strongest option when it directly meets the requirement and is easy to support.
